refuel agency installed 8-foot tall statues, to represent the 4 FX TV shows, at sidewalk cafes and bars around San Diego. Each statue was embedded with free Wi-Fi access. Brand ambassadors helped take photos of passersby and posted those photos to Instagram with dedicated #hashtags. A mobile optimized sweepstakes linked to a gallery of the Instagram photos.
Conversation on Facebook for the 4 core shows and network sites rose over 47%. Twitter followers rose 5% during Comic Con. The photos and conversation from FX Icons contributed greatly to that, with over 3.5 Million Total Impressions, 500 Online Photos and Posts and a 26% Opt-in Rate.
